Flexible packaging

Luminy® PLA is used in many different flexible packaging applications, including organic waste bin liners, dual use compostable shopping bags, fruit & vegetable bags, lidding film, flow wrappers and snack packaging. In this segment PLA is often used as part of a compound, where PLA is typically contributing strength and heat resistance to the final product.

When used as stand alone product, PLA offers transparency and resilience. Composting, is often a preferred end of life solution for thin film packaging, which is difficult to recycle mechanically and which is often contaminated with food.
